Found in the rain forests of West and Central Africa, the African Golden Cat (Profelis aurata) is a medium-sized wild cat. It is a close relative of both the Caracal and the Serval, but current classification places it as the only member of the genus Profelis. They are about twice the size of a domesticated cat and is a threatened species. The second video is a clearer rendition of the same night hunting scene as in the first.

Viewers have tried to comment, so I have opened up comments to the public again. (Due to repeated abusive language submitted by one person, I have restricted comments for a while.) The sporadic technical glitches persist. I see blank comments coming in frequently. Blogger needs to fix this, one of these days. Please email me if your comment does not appear.
