Neshroon Idiiyat-es-Sahel

Neshroon is half sister to the sire, Azil, so that makes her a half aunt to the new litter at Idiiyat-es-Sahel, born yesterday to Batna. There are 5 beautiful taidit (females). Daoud Abdullah Abdullah named them: Nufoudah - after the Nufood desert in the Land of the Two Holy Places (Madinah and Makka ... also known as the Saudi Arabian Peninsula); Safqa - one of the most precious dam lines of the asil Arabian strains on the island of Bahrain;
Abaya - an Abaya is worn by modest muslim women...a covering; Kuhaylat - from the word 'khol' ...meaning the eyes are trimmed with dark pigment, like eyeliner, and Hamra - Arabic for very red. In the first image, Neshroon is standing in 'snow' - snow created by her opening up her pillow to look inside. She is curious as a cat - you can see her looking at herself in the next two images!

Tennessee: Legislative S.O.S.!

KILL The HSUS Bills Phone-AThon Tennessee There are some nasty HSUS backed bills in Tennessee that need to die. So, on Monday, April 13, 2009, get ready to CALL, FAX, or at the very least email the committee members (as well as your own rep) to send the strong unified message that we are OPPOSED to these bills. The ARs do this all the time...They stage call-in days and bombard the lawmakers with calls/faxes. WE must do the same! Please forward this post to any individual, group/club, groomer, pet sitter, breeder, dog owner, anyone that can lend a few minutes to send these H$U$ bills to their grave! Animal Forfeiture Bill, HB 0626, will be heard Tuesday, April 14, before the House Calendar and Rules Committee Click here to read more, take action and for the bill summary.

AZAWAKH: Hunts!

"Over millennia, in a harsh desert environment, nature and the selective hand of man forged the Azawakh/idi,a race of hounds possessed of a rare combination of physical and mental characteristics; exotic, beautiful hounds uniquely adapted to serve three distinct yet inextricably interrelated functions: protector, hunter, and status symbol." Read the rest of this fascinating article by Idiiyat-es-Sahel about the Azawakh's background by clicking here. Iférouane made her first successful hunt at less than 6 months of age. She had tried several times before, but the rabbit dove into its burrow. She stood watch over the entrance for a long time before I called her away. This time, she chose a smaller prey: a shrew. And caught it. Thus a huntress' career was launched yesterday! Bred by co-owner Daoud Abdullah Abdullah, her dam is desertbred Tiraout, her sire is Tigidit Fasiqqi.
